Early in 2011 Gulley has authored a book reviewing religious life in the twenty-first century western world. Previously Gulley wrote a series of novels about life in Harmony Ohio as the pastor of the Quaker Church. If the Church were Christian is a much more serious book taking on some controversial issues.
